Frequently Asked Questions
Everything sellers ask us, answered straight. Don't see your question? Call (951) 903-9804 — a buyer answers, not a phone tree.
What We Buy
- What equipment do you buy?
- Transformers (padmount, dry-type, oil-filled, substation), low and medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers of every class, panelboards and switchboards, busway, and copper or aluminum cable — working, surplus, or decommissioned.
- Do you buy non-working or damaged equipment?
- Yes. Non-working equipment is priced on recoverable material and rebuildable cores, which usually still beats local scrap pricing because we recover whole units.
- Do you buy old or obsolete brands?
- Actively. Westinghouse, Federal Pacific, ITE, and legacy GE gear supply a large spares market — obsolete often means more valuable, not less.
- Is there a minimum quantity?
- No practical minimum for quality items. A single 400A+ breaker, one padmount transformer, or one full reel of feeder cable is worth a quote.
Offers & Payment
- How do I get an offer?
- Send photos of the equipment and its nameplates through the quote form, or text them after calling (951) 903-9804. Common equipment is quoted within 24 hours.
- How is equipment priced?
- Against the real resale market — reconditioning shops and end users — not scrap weight. Ratings, brand, condition, and documentation set the number; the offer is net to you.
- When and how do I get paid?
- Before pickup, by wire transfer or company check, once the equipment is verified on site against the offer. No consignment, no net-30.
- Are your offers negotiable?
- Our first number is a real number, built from resale value minus logistics. If you have a competing offer, share it — we'll tell you straight whether we can beat it.
Logistics & Pickup
- Who pays for freight and rigging?
- We do — always. Rigging, crane service, oversize permits, and transport are arranged and paid by us. Offers are net to you.
- How fast is pickup after an accepted offer?
- Standard lots: 3-7 business days. Crane jobs: 1-2 weeks. Oversize power transformers: 2-4 weeks including permits. Demolition and turnaround deadlines get priority scheduling.
- Can you remove equipment from inside buildings?
- Yes — electrical rooms, basements, mezzanines, and rooftops. Our riggers handle sectioning, elevator moves, and crane picks; just describe the access.
- Do you handle oil-filled transformer transport rules?
- Yes. Licensed carriers, oil handling, and PCB sampling coordination where status is unknown — all compliance is built into the plan.
Location & Coverage
- Where do you buy equipment?
- All 50 states. We're based in Jurupa Valley, California, and buy nationwide through our carrier and rigging network — location never blocks a deal.
- Can I deliver equipment to you directly?
- Yes — Southern California sellers can deliver to our Jurupa Valley yard by appointment. Call ahead and your offer will be ready on arrival.
- Do you travel to inspect large lots?
- For plant closures and large scopes, yes. Most purchases complete from photos alone, but complete facility scopes justify an on-site walkthrough.
